He criticized the current Attorney General, Jason Miyares, for advancing a radical ideological agenda rather than protecting Virginians. Jones, who has previously lost a primary bid for this position, faces competition from Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor for the Democratic nomination. His campaign is backed by a PAC launched by prominent Democrats, including former Governor Ralph Northam. Miyares has not yet announced his plans for re-election or a gubernatorial run.
