Four Hospitalized After House Fire in Jacksonville Grand Park

A house fire in Jacksonville's Grand Park neighborhood on Sherrington Street early Monday morning sent four people, including two children, to the hospital. The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department (JFRD) responded around 7:50 a.m. and found the fire had started in the living room of the home. Among the injured, a mother and her youngest child are in serious or critical condition, while the other adult and child are stable. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with no confirmation yet on the presence of smoke detectors or involvement of oxygen devices. Eyewitnesses reported the fire spreading rapidly, and emergency responders, including a hazmat team, were on the scene, though no hazardous materials concerns were confirmed. Authorities continue to investigate the incident as the family recovers.
