South Korea has resumed anti-Pyongyang loudspeaker broadcasts in retaliation for North Korea's latest round of trash-carrying balloon launches. Approximately 200 balloons, filled with waste materials like paper and cigarette butts, were sent into South Korean territory by North Korea. The broadcasts, which include K-pop music, news, and criticisms of the North Korean regime, aim to undermine North Korea's political system and have been cited as highly irritating by the North. This escalation follows South Korea's suspension of a tension-reduction agreement and a warning from Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The South Korean military has warned of further actions if North Korea continues its provocations.
