Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann was arrested for DUI after allegedly following a couple home, crashing into their mailbox, and parking on their lawn. The incident occurred around 10 pm on Wednesday, leading to a 911 call where the caller reported that Heitmann appeared intoxicated. Upon arrival, police administered a field sobriety test which Heitmann failed, and subsequent breath tests revealed her blood alcohol level was over twice the legal limit. Heitmann, who claimed to have only had one glass of wine, was recorded on bodycam footage asking not to be called 'mayor' during the arrest. She was charged with DUI and released on a $500 bond. Naples City Manager Jay Boodheshwar assured the community that city services would continue unaffected despite the incident.
