Allegiant Launches Major U.S. Route Expansion

Allegiant Air is expanding its U.S. leisure travel network in 2025 with several new nonstop routes connecting underserved cities, with fares starting at $39 one way. Gulf Shores International Airport in Alabama is welcoming its first-ever commercial flights, with Allegiant providing nonstop service to six destinations including Knoxville, Cincinnati, and Houston, and expecting to serve around 60,000 passengers this year. This new air service is expected to transform access to Alabama’s Gulf Coast, ease road congestion, and boost tourism and economic growth. Other cities such as South Bend, Memphis, Key West, Appleton, and Des Moines will also receive new direct routes, enhancing regional connectivity. South Bend International Airport may surpass one million passengers for the first time since 1997 due to these additions. Airport and community leaders emphasize the importance of these expansions for tourism and local economies.
