Indian javelin thrower Sumit Antil, the reigning Paralympic champion, is focused on defending his title at the Paris Paralympics from August 28 to September 8, 2024. He has set and broken multiple world records, most recently throwing 73.29 meters at the 2022 Asian Para Games, and aims to achieve a distance of 75 meters in Paris. Antil, who became an athlete after losing a leg in a motorcycle accident, has received substantial support from the Indian government and embodies resilience and determination.
