Noah Centineo Cast as Young Rambo for 2026 Thailand Shoot
Noah Centineo has been cast to star as a young John Rambo in an origin prequel film titled "John Rambo," which will explore the character's experiences during the Vietnam War. The film is directed by Jalmari Helander, known for the 2023 action film Sisu, with a screenplay by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, writers behind Black Adam. Produced by Millennium Media, the project is set to begin filming in early 2026 in Thailand, with Lionsgate reportedly the frontrunner to distribute the movie. Sylvester Stallone, who originated the role and co-wrote previous films, is aware of the project but has no current involvement, though his reaction to Centineo's casting remains to be seen. The Rambo franchise, based on David Morrell's novel First Blood, has generated over $800 million globally, with the most recent installment released in 2019. Centineo's recent notable roles include Netflix's The Recruit and Alex Garland's Warfare, and he is also attached to the upcoming Street Fighter adaptation.
