Accor Signs Master Development Deal for Over 3,000 Hotel Keys Across Saudi Arabia
Accor has signed a master development agreement with BinDawood Investment's hospitality arm, Al Qimmah, to develop and manage over 3,000 hotel rooms across Saudi Arabia, including landmark projects in Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah. The partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, aiming to enhance the kingdom's tourism sector by introducing diverse properties ranging from premium to economy segments, including city hotels, serviced apartments, resorts, and religious tourism accommodations. The initial phase features four flagship projects: a 288-key Swissôtel near Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport and a 1,015-key Mövenpick in Madinah, both opening in 2029, alongside renovations of two major hotels in Makkah scheduled for completion by 2027. Accor currently operates 46 hotels with over 17,000 keys in Saudi Arabia and plans to expand with 47 more properties under 15 brands, emphasizing its leadership in the religious hospitality market. Both Duncan O’Rourke of Accor and Dr. Abdulrazzaq Bindawood of BinDawood Investment emphasize the partnership's commitment to innovation, scale, and supporting Saudi Arabia’s long-term tourism agenda. This collaboration represents a significant step in positioning Saudi Arabia as a global tourism leader with enhanced hospitality offerings for millions of visitors.
