De Minaur Withdraws from Olympic Singles, Doubles Out

Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur has withdrawn from the men's singles at the Paris Olympics due to a cartilage tear sustained during Wimbledon. Despite his initial hopes of competing in singles, de Minaur will only participate in the doubles tournament alongside Alexei Popyrin. The duo faced an early exit, losing to the American pair Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram. De Minaur's injury, which initially sidelined him from Wimbledon’s quarterfinals against Novak Djokovic, has impacted his Olympic participation. Both de Minaur and his girlfriend, Katie Boulter, are now out of the Olympics following their respective first-round losses.
