DIFC Celebrates 20th Anniversary With Record Growth, Revenues Reach AED 1.78bn
The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) celebrated its 20th anniversary by reporting record financial results for 2024, solidifying its status as a leading financial hub in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA). DIFC recorded a 37% revenue increase to AED 1.78 billion (USD 484 million) and a 55% rise in operating profit to AED 1.33 billion (USD 363 million). The number of active companies rose to 6,920, a 25% increase, with 1,823 new registrations, the highest annual figure ever. The technology and innovation sector saw significant growth, reaching 1,245 companies, while the overall workforce expanded to 46,078, marking a 10% rise. Key contributions to DIFC's growth came from Middle Eastern and Asian nations, particularly Indian firms. Governor Essa Kazim emphasized DIFC's transformative role in Dubai's economy, aligning with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and the DIFC Strategy 2030.
