Lindor Homers Twice, Mets Beat Rockies 4-2
Francisco Lindor powered the New York Mets to a 4-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies by hitting two home runs, including his fifth leadoff homer of the season and his second multi-homer game this year. Starling Marte also contributed with a solo homer for the Mets. Mets starter David Peterson pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing just one run, before the bullpen, led by Reed Garrett and Edwin Diaz, secured the win. The Rockies, who have now lost six straight and have the worst 57-game start in modern baseball history at 9-48, scored runs from Ryan McMahon and a pinch-hit homer by Sam Hilliard. Despite the win, the Mets went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position, continuing a recent trend. The Mets' recent home success stands in stark contrast to the Rockies' poor road performance this season.
