Motion City Soundtrack Announces First Album In 10 Years, Features Patrick Stump

Motion City Soundtrack has announced their first new album in a decade, The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World, set for release on September 19 via Epitaph Records. The album, produced by Sean O'Keefe, reunites the band with Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump on the track "Particle Physics," and features collaborations with Citizen's Mat Kerekes and Sincere Engineer's Deanna Belos. Lead single "She Is Afraid" draws inspiration from artists like Del the Funky Homosapien, That Dog, and Faith No More, with a music video influenced by the Apple TV thriller Severance. Frontman Justin Pierre reflects on the band's evolution, noting that past albums grappled with confusion and identity, whereas this record reflects a clearer sense of self after overcoming personal struggles.
