Neon Acquires Rights to Chloe Okuno's Brides

Maika Monroe is set to star in the upcoming horror film 'Brides', directed by Chloe Okuno, marking their third collaboration following the success of 'Watcher' and 'Longlegs'. Neon has acquired the North American rights to 'Brides', which is currently in pre-production and scheduled to begin filming in March 2025. The film's narrative revolves around Monroe's character, Sally Bishop, who travels to a remote Italian villa and encounters a mysterious count with a peculiar interest in her. With themes inspired by Dracula, 'Brides' is described as 'gothic, glamorous, and gory', exploring societal repression and desire. Neon, which also produced 'Longlegs', the highest-grossing independent film of the year at $75 million, is expected to release 'Brides' theatrically. The film is produced by Anthony Bregman and Stefanie Azpiazu through Likely Story.
