Asahi Group Suspends Multiple Japan Breweries Following Cyberattack

Japan’s largest brewer, Asahi Group, has suspended order intake, shipments, and production at several of its 30 domestic plants following a cyberattack that caused a system-wide failure. The attack affected operations including call centers and customer service but did not impact the company’s European supply chains or lead to any confirmed leakage of customer data. Asahi, known for brands such as Asahi Super Dry Beer, Nikka Whisky, and international labels like Peroni and Grolsch, is actively investigating the incident but has not provided a timeline for resuming normal operations. The company apologized for the disruption and emphasized that the breach was confined to its Japan operations.
