Missouri Man Arrested for Attempted Murder of Mississippi Officer
Two separate shootings involving attempted murder charges occurred recently. In Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Travis Moore, a former employee of Valmont Industries and previously out on bond for attempted murder, was arrested after shooting an employee sitting in his vehicle; the victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, in Columbia, Mississippi, 32-year-old Daniel Chiodini from St. Louis, Missouri, fired a stolen 12-gauge shotgun at a Columbia police patrol car during an investigation of squatters, striking the vehicle but injuring no officers. Chiodini fled towards the Pearl River, concealed the weapon, and attempted to swim across before being apprehended by multiple law enforcement agencies. He faces charges including attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, burglary of a dwelling, and possession of a stolen firearm. Authorities praised the professionalism and coordination of officers involved in both incidents, which ended without injuries to law enforcement personnel.
