India to Open Major Quantum Tech Park in 2026
Andhra Pradesh's capital, Amaravati, will host India's first Quantum Valley Tech Park, scheduled to open on January 1, 2026. The Andhra Pradesh government has partnered with IBM, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Larsen & Toubro (L&T), with L&T responsible for rapid construction of the park. IBM will install a 156-qubit Quantum System Two, making it India's most advanced quantum computer, while TCS collaborates on developing quantum algorithms for sectors such as life sciences, cryptography, logistics, and finance. The initiative includes quantum computing access across research centers in 17 states and plans for quantum-enabled public services. Two state committees will oversee infrastructure and ecosystem development, including hiring global experts. This project aims to foster academia-industry collaboration, create high-end jobs, and advance India's National Quantum Mission.
