A 67-year-old motorcyclist from the Netherlands, Albertaus Peek, was killed in a crash along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, North Carolina, on September 9. Peek, who was riding with a group, failed to navigate a turn and collided with an oncoming vehicle. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near milepost 377. Despite efforts from Buncombe County emergency crews, Peek was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a popular 469-mile scenic route known for its fall foliage and winding roads.
