Ma'Kiah Cherae Coleman, a 20-year-old woman from Glendale, Arizona, has been sentenced to four months in prison and 36 months of supervised release for assaulting a TSA agent at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on April 25, 2023. The incident, which stemmed from the confiscation of her apple juice at a security checkpoint, escalated when Coleman grabbed the agent's hair, slammed their head against a table, and punched them multiple times. The altercation resulted in injuries to three TSA agents and a temporary shutdown of the security checkpoint, causing significant inconvenience to travelers. Coleman pled guilty to assault on a federal officer inflicting bodily injury and is banned from traveling by commercial aircraft during her supervised release period. The sentencing was announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office and U.S. District Judge Douglas Rayes presided over the case.
