Texas Man, 35, Faces Charges for Allegedly Scalding 67-Year-Old Girlfriend

Alexander Alton McDavid, a 35-year-old man from Waco, Texas, has been arrested for allegedly pouring hot soup on his 67-year-old girlfriend during an argument, causing her third-degree burns. The incident occurred on February 28, when McDavid reportedly became angry over her talking too much and intentionally hit the plate of soup as she was removing it from the microwave. The victim, who lacked access to a vehicle or phone, was only able to report the abuse days later after visiting a Social Security office. McDavid faces multiple charges, including assault with bodily injury and injury to the elderly, and is currently held on a $130,000 bond. The couple had been living together for about a year, during which time McDavid's behavior reportedly escalated to physical abuse, including past incidents of choking the victim. The case is now pending prosecution at the McLennan County DA's office.
