RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic Coming to Switch

Atari has announced the release of RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic for Nintendo Switch, set for December 5, 2024. This version combines elements from the original RollerCoaster Tycoon and its sequel, RollerCoaster Tycoon 2, allowing players to design and manage their own amusement parks. Ethan Stearns, Atari's VP of Games Publishing, expressed excitement over the port, highlighting its potential to engage both returning and new players on the Switch platform. The release is part of a year-long celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the franchise, which has also included merchandise, mobile expansions, and the acquisition of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 from Frontier. The game has previously been well-received on other platforms like PC and mobile, and the Switch adaptation will feature controls optimized for the console. Atari aims to attract a new generation while rekindling interest among long-time fans.
