Texas Man Charged With Stalking Caitlin Clark

Michael Thomas Lewis, a 55-year-old man from Denton, Texas, has been charged with stalking and threatening sexual battery after sending sexually violent messages to WNBA star Caitlin Clark via X. Lewis's messages included details of him driving around Clark's house and taunting her about attending her games, which led to Clark feeling unsafe and altering her appearance in public. Authorities became aware of Lewis's presence in Indianapolis, which raised significant concerns due to the nature of his threats. When confronted by police, Lewis downplayed his actions, claiming they were merely fantasy or jokes, despite the alarming content of his messages. Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears emphasized the courage it takes for victims to come forward in such cases, highlighting the need for women to feel safe in their communities. If convicted, Lewis could face up to six years in prison for his actions.
