Accused Sexual Predator Captured in Texas After Multi-State Manhunt

Alex Bangash, a 23-year-old man accused of multiple sexual assaults, was apprehended in Texas after fleeing Arizona by cutting off his GPS ankle monitor. Bangash faced serious charges, including seven counts of sexual assault and kidnapping, related to incidents involving five known victims. After being granted a bond, he was released but evaded law enforcement for several weeks until a multi-state manhunt coordinated by the Tempe Police and U.S. Marshals led to his capture on April 3. Authorities discovered him working off the grid as a ranch hand in rural Texas. U.S. Marshal Van Bayless emphasized that capturing sexual predators is a priority, highlighting the successful teamwork that led to Bangash's arrest. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Arizona to face charges.
