Linus Lundqvist on Standby for Nolan Siegel at Toronto IndyCar

Linus Lundqvist, the 2024 INDYCAR Rookie of the Year, has been named the reserve driver for Arrow McLaren's No. 6 Chevrolet at the upcoming Toronto race, standing by in case Nolan Siegel is not medically cleared to compete. Siegel suffered a concussion in a crash during the Iowa Speedway race weekend, which sidelined him for the second race and led to a medical evaluation scheduled for Thursday to determine his fitness to race in Toronto. Lundqvist, who lost his full-time ride after Chip Ganassi Racing downsized its program, will join the team in Toronto and could make his first start of the year if Siegel remains sidelined. Team officials emphasized caution due to the risks of a second crash in a short timeframe, with Siegel currently 21st in the standings and having two top-10 finishes this season. Arrow McLaren plans to finalize its driver lineup for the Toronto race following Siegel's medical clearance. Lundqvist has prior IndyCar experience, including two podiums during his rookie campaign and a previous start at the Canadian street race where he finished 13th.
