Ex-FBI Agent Bauer Sentenced for Child Assault

Former FBI agent and Alabama state trooper Christopher Bauer has been sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. Bauer was convicted of first-degree sodomy and sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12. The sentencing follows a revelation that Bauer had previously been dismissed from the FBI for multiple sexual misconduct allegations, including raping a co-worker at knifepoint, and used a forged letter to secure his position with Alabama law enforcement. Montgomery Circuit Judge Jimmy Pool delivered the maximum sentence, stating he believed the victim's testimony entirely. Montgomery County District Attorney Daryl Bailey condemned Bauer as a 'depraved monster' who exploited his position of power. Bauer's defense cited his abusive childhood in an attempt to seek leniency, which was ultimately denied.
