Five Arrested for Defrauding Women as Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt's representatives issued a warning after Spanish authorities arrested five imposters for defrauding two women out of over $350,000 by posing as the actor online. The scammers contacted the victims through a fan page, building trust and convincing them they were in a romantic relationship with Pitt before soliciting money for various investment projects. The victims, one of whom lost $168,000 and another $195,500, only realized they were being scammed after numerous bank transfers. Authorities have recovered $94,000 so far and are investigating further, with the imposters facing charges of fraud and money laundering. Pitt, who has no official social media presence, emphasized the importance of not responding to unsolicited online outreach from celebrities. Other celebrities have similarly warned fans about online scams impersonating them.
