Mike Peters, the 65-year-old frontman of rock band The Alarm, is in remission after participating in an NHS drug trial for fast-growing lymphoma. Peters, who previously battled chronic lymphocytic leukaemia for over 29 years, noticed a lump in his neck shortly before a planned US tour, prompting urgent medical attention. Doctors suspected he had developed Richter’s syndrome, which transforms CLL into a more aggressive form of lymphoma. After undergoing experimental therapy at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, Peters received the all-clear, expressing gratitude for the quick response of his medical team.
