The Union government has initiated rectification work on the Mumbai-Bangalore bypass, starting with the construction of major bridges over the Mutha River to alleviate traffic congestion. Concurrently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate several significant infrastructure projects in Mumbai, including the partial opening of the Metro 3 corridor between Aarey and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in early October. This 12.5 km stretch, featuring 10 stations, is part of the larger 33.5 km underground metro project. Modi's visit will also see the inauguration of one corridor of the Thane Creek Bridge and the final phase of the 701 km Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway. These projects aim to improve traffic flow and connectivity across key regions in Mumbai and Maharashtra. The Metro 3 project, delayed from its original 2021 target, is expected to be fully operational by March 2025.
