6ix9ine Sues LA Fitness Over Gym Attack

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, has filed a lawsuit against LA Fitness seeking over $1 million in damages following a 2023 assault at one of their South Florida gyms. The lawsuit claims LA Fitness failed to provide adequate security and did not implement proper safety protocols, which allowed the attack by three men, allegedly members of the Latin Kings gang, to occur. During the assault, which took place in a sauna and was captured on video, Hernandez sustained injuries to his ribs, jaw, and back, resulting in hospitalization and claims of pain, suffering, and loss of income. The attack was reportedly exacerbated by the gym staff's slow response in calling the police. The assailants, Rafael Medina Jr., Octavious Medina, and Anthony Maldonado, were later arrested, with some reaching plea deals. Tekashi has also been accused of staging the attack for publicity, a claim he denies.
