Waymo Integrates YouTube Music in Robotaxis Across Three US Cities

Waymo has integrated YouTube Music into its self-driving taxis, allowing riders in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix to link their YouTube Music accounts and enjoy personalized music streaming during their rides. This addition makes YouTube Music the third streaming option in Waymo vehicles, alongside Spotify and iHeartRadio, and users can connect their accounts via the Waymo app or QR code inside the car. The "My Car" tab in the Waymo app enhances the passenger experience by enabling control over cabin settings such as temperature, audio balance, and accessibility features. To promote the launch, Waymo collaborated with pop artist Julia Michaels, who recorded a performance from the backseat of a Waymo vehicle, highlighting the nonjudgmental and freeing experience. This partnership is part of Waymo's broader strategy to blend innovative transportation with cultural storytelling, aiming to make self-driving taxis feel aspirational and mainstream.
