1997's Anaconda Starring Jennifer Lopez Released on 4K UHD SteelBook Dec 9

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing the original 1997 creature thriller "Anaconda" on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in a limited edition SteelBook on December 9, 2025. The film, starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, and Eric Stoltz, has been restored from the original camera negative and presented with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, offering viewers a high-quality viewing experience. The SteelBook edition includes bonus features such as interviews with the director Luis Llosa and co-writer Hans Bauer, deleted and extended scenes, and the theatrical trailer. This release coincides with the upcoming comedic meta reboot of the franchise, set to hit theaters on December 25, 2025, starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd. The original film follows a documentary crew in the Amazon who encounter a deadly giant snake after a poacher takes control of their expedition. The Anaconda franchise has previously spawned multiple sequels and crossover films, and this 4K release is exclusive to the SteelBook packaging with no standard Blu-ray case offered.
