Texas Prison Camp Increases Security After Ghislaine Maxwell Transfer
Ghislaine Maxwell, serving a 20-year sentence for her role in Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking scheme, was recently transferred from a federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida, to the minimum-security Federal Prison Camp Bryan in southeast Texas. Following her transfer, the prison, often referred to as "Club Fed," has increased security measures, including the deployment of the Bureau of Prisons’ Special Operations Response Team to monitor the entrance and verify IDs, marking a significant change for the typically less restrictive facility. It remains unclear if Maxwell has faced direct threats since her arrival. The heightened security coincides with renewed public interest and controversy after the Justice Department and FBI released a memo denying the existence of a client list of powerful individuals involved with Epstein’s crimes, which sparked backlash, particularly from President Trump's supporters. Amid this, President Trump has requested the Justice Department to seek grand jury testimony records relevant to the Epstein investigation. Maxwell’s transfer and the associated security enhancements come as pressure mounts for the release of Epstein files and transcripts from Maxwell’s interviews with authorities.
