Multiple Magnitude 5+ Earthquakes Shake Southern Iran

Southern Iran has experienced a series of moderate earthquakes recently, with magnitudes reported between 5.1 and 5.7 by various seismic agencies. A 5.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded by the National Seismic Network, although it was not felt in neighboring UAE and caused no impact there. The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a 5.5-magnitude quake at a depth of 27 km, highlighting concerns about aftershocks as authorities remain on alert. Additionally, a 5.2-magnitude shallow earthquake struck near Minab, Hormozgan province, likely causing light vibrations felt by residents but no significant damage. Another significant quake of magnitude 5.1 occurred near Dehdasht in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, also at a shallow depth, with light shaking felt in several nearby towns and cities but minimal damage reported. These events underscore the seismic activity in southern Iran, prompting monitoring and preparedness efforts by local authorities and seismic networks.
