UK Police Dismantle Largest Illegal Weight-Loss Jab Factory in Northampton

Authorities have dismantled the UK's first illicit weight-loss injection production facility in Northampton, marking the largest single seizure of trafficked weight-loss drugs worldwide. The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), working with Northamptonshire Police, seized tens of thousands of empty injection pens, raw chemical ingredients, and over 2,000 unlicensed Retatrutide and Tirzepatide pens with an estimated street value exceeding £250,000. Health Secretary Wes Streeting condemned the operation for endangering lives, emphasizing that these unregulated products pose major safety risks to unwitting customers. The factory was used for large-scale manufacturing, packaging, and distribution of potentially lethal counterfeit slimming products, with officers also recovering £20,000 in suspected proceeds from the illicit trade. MHRA officials urged the public to exercise caution when purchasing medicines online and to obtain weight-loss treatments only through registered pharmacies and medical supervision. This raid is part of ongoing efforts to combat the dangerous and illegal weight-loss medicine market that threatens public health and finances organized crime.
