Cambridgeshire County Council Election 2025 Results Announced

Voters in Cambridgeshire participated in the 2025 local elections, with all 61 seats on the Cambridgeshire County Council up for election across districts including Cambridge, East Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Huntingdonshire, and South Cambridgeshire. The council, which oversees regional services such as education, social care, and transportation, had previously been governed by a coalition of Liberal Democrats, Labour, and independent groups due to no single party holding a majority. No borough council elections took place this year in Cambridgeshire, as those are scheduled for 2026. In addition to the county council elections, mayoral elections for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and two Cambridge City Council by-elections were also held. Provisional results for the county council were expected to be announced between 3:30pm and 5pm on May 2, with the mayoral results anticipated around 12:30pm. Across England, over 1,641 council seats were contested in 24 local authorities, with mayoral races in six regions.
