Far-Right Leads in French Legislative Elections

Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally (RN) party gained a significant lead in the first round of the French legislative elections, securing about 33-34% of the vote. This outcome has prompted relief rallies in French financial markets but also sparked widespread protests across Paris and other cities. President Macron’s centrist alliance came in a distant third, and the left-wing New Popular Front secured second place with around 28-29% of the vote.
