Animated Cat in the Hat Film Gets IMAX Release

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation will release a new full-length animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss' 'The Cat in the Hat' in late February 2026, featuring Bill Hader as the Cat and a voice cast including Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, America Ferrera, and Xochitl Gomez. Directed by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja, the story follows the Cat, an agent for the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration (I.I.I.I.), as he helps siblings Gabby and Sebastian adjust to a new town while risking the loss of his magical hat. The film introduces an expanded universe with whimsical worlds and inventive animation styles. This marks the first animated feature-length film for the character, following the 2003 live-action adaptation. The movie will debut in theaters and IMAX worldwide. A trailer has already been released, offering a preview of the colorful adventure.
