Chris Sale of the Atlanta Braves has been named the National League Comeback Player of the Year, following a remarkable 2024 season where he achieved a Triple Crown in pitching with 18 wins, a 2.38 ERA, and 225 strikeouts. This accolade follows a challenging period marked by several injuries and surgeries during his time with the Boston Red Sox, including Tommy John surgery and multiple fractures. Sale, acquired in a trade from the Red Sox, also became a finalist for the NL Cy Young Award, which will be announced soon. The Braves, known for their successes with comeback players, have seen Sale exceed expectations, marking the fourth Braves player to win this award since its inception in 2005. Sale's resurgence has been recognized alongside other awardees like Shohei Ohtani, who won his fourth Outstanding Designated Hitter Award.
