Voter Awareness Campaigns Ramp Up Ahead of Elections

Ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections, various initiatives have been launched across India to boost voter awareness and participation. In Nashik, Zilla parishad CEO Ashima Mittal is promoting election awareness through Diwali-themed activities involving school and college students, encouraging them to engage their families in the voting process. In Jamshedpur, district officials have initiated a campaign that includes a signature drive and a 'Voter Awareness Chariot' to reach areas with low turnout, while Bollywood actor Akhilendra Mishra advocates for voting rights at a literature festival. Additionally, District Election Officer Ananya Mittal emphasized the importance of voter participation by urging citizens to actively visit polling booths, supported by various community organizations. The Election Commission is also taking steps to address urban voter apathy in Maharashtra and Jharkhand by scheduling mid-week polling and promoting events that blend culture and civic engagement. These efforts aim to celebrate voting as a fundamental democratic festival and ensure maximum turnout during the elections on November 13 and 20.
