Linkin Park Introduces New Vocalist Emily Armstrong

Linkin Park co-founder Mike Shinoda has defended the decision to feature new vocalist Emily Armstrong, emphasizing that he wanted her to be herself rather than a replacement for the late Chester Bennington. In an interview, Shinoda expressed discomfort with cover bands that mimic Bennington's voice, noting that such imitations can feel 'creepy' and inauthentic. He stated, 'We just want Emily to be Emily. The songs are the songs.' The band announced their reunion and Armstrong's addition amidst mixed reactions from fans, some of whom preferred a singer with a similar vocal style to Bennington. Despite the backlash, Shinoda believes that pursuing authenticity is key for their new direction. Linkin Park has recently released their album 'From Zero' and is set to embark on a world tour in 2025.
