Louisville Police Arrest Man After Abandoning Infant During Traffic Stop

Louisville police arrested Christopher Morris, 42, after a five-week search following a July 3 traffic stop where he fled and left his four-month-old baby unattended in his car. Morris, who had multiple felony warrants including possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and parole violations, was found hiding in a closet and faces new charges including child endangerment. The infant was unharmed and taken into the care of a grandparent after emergency personnel checked on the child. Police described the pursuit as a "game of cat and mouse" and noted Morris abandoned his vehicle in the Village West area before fleeing on foot. He is currently lodged at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections awaiting arraignment. Authorities continue to investigate, and the full list of charges against Morris is pending.
