Vikramaditya Motwane Releases New Film CTRL

Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane is set to release his new Netflix film 'CTRL' on October 4, which explores the intersection of influencer culture and artificial intelligence through the 'Screenlife' format. The story, co-written with Avinash Sampath, revolves around Nella, played by Ananya Panday, who turns to an AI app to erase her cheating boyfriend, Joe, only for the app to take control of her life. Motwane noted that while the film initially seemed futuristic when they began writing in mid-2020, it became increasingly relevant due to rapid advancements in AI and influencer culture. The film promises to be thought-provoking and relatable, reflecting the pervasive use of screens in daily life. Vihaan Samat, who plays Joe, describes 'CTRL' as a hard-hitting slice-of-life film that challenges perceptions about technology and relationships. The project is backed by Timur Bekmambetov, who is known for his work in the Screenlife genre.
