Multiple school-bus crashes were reported across the U.S. this week, with incidents in Darke County, Ohio; Rockingham County, North Carolina; Norfolk, Virginia; Louisa County, Virginia; Boone County, Kentucky; Andover, Minnesota; and a Douglas County crash captured on video. In Andover, Minnesota, a pickup towing a trailer crossed the center line and struck a southbound school bus, killing the pickup driver, identified as Dustin Cole King, and leaving the bus driver and one student with non-life-threatening injuries; other students were reunited with parents and the crash is under investigation. Louisa County officials said a Rockingham County bus carrying middle-school students and chaperones to the State Fair had no known significant injuries, though five students and three adults were evaluated at a hospital. Boone County authorities said roughly seven students were taken to hospital with minor injuries after a bus ran off Hicks Pike, while Norfolk police reported a bus crash on Hampton Boulevard with no injuries. Darke County dispatchers reported a Greenville City Schools bus crash near SR-127 that prompted a medical helicopter, and Rockingham County EMS confirmed a bus crash on Sardis Church Road with injury extent unknown; most incidents remain under investigation as local authorities coordinate with school districts, first responders and families.
