Ruby, who has lived in a penthouse overlooking the landscape designed by Capability Brown for 30 years, fears the development of 39 new tennis courts will ruin her cherished view and cause significant environmental damage. During a community meeting, Ruby expressed her distress over the potential destruction of mature trees and the daily disruptions from construction. The project, which includes the creation of a third 8,000-seat show court, has faced opposition from residents concerned about environmental impact and loss of green spaces. The decision on the project is expected to be made by Deputy Mayor of London Jules Pipe this week after Mayor Sadiq Khan recused himself due to prior support for the expansion. Ruby has stated that the view gives her strength and inspiration, and she is ready to be arrested if necessary to protect it.
