Fall River Officer Arrested in Child Sex Sting

Fall River police officer Mitchell Walsh was arrested by the Boston Police Department’s Human Trafficking Unit as part of a child sex sting operation. Walsh allegedly communicated with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old online for six weeks, planning to meet for sexual purposes and discussing bringing cocaine and alcohol. When he arrived at the meeting location, he was arrested and his car was found to contain cocaine and alcohol. Walsh is facing charges including enticement of a child under 16, sexual conduct for a fee with a child, attempted rape of a child, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. At the time of his arrest, Walsh was on extended leave from his department for unrelated matters, and his employment status is now under review. The Fall River Police Department, emphasizing the seriousness of the allegations, expressed their commitment to cooperate fully with the Boston Police Department in the investigation.
