Ugly Betty Star Arrested for Battery in Florida Bar Brawl

Eric Mabius, the 53-year-old actor famous for his role as Daniel Meade on 'Ugly Betty', was arrested early Thursday morning in Florida following a drunken altercation at an Irish bar named The Goat. He faces misdemeanor charges of battery and resisting an officer without violence after allegedly pushing a woman to the ground and pulling her hair. Witnesses reported that Mabius and a 40-year-old woman began creating a disturbance, spitting on patrons after being asked to leave by bar staff. When police arrived, Mabius reportedly became belligerent and refused to comply with officers' instructions, leading to his arrest. Although the female victim declined to press charges, both Mabius and the woman were taken into custody. Sheriff Bill Leeper emphasized that such behavior would not be tolerated in the community, regardless of Mabius's celebrity status.
