Andras House acquires Belfast Travelodge for £8.75m

Andras House, Belfast's largest hotel operator, has acquired the Travelodge in Belfast city centre for £8.75 million, with plans for significant refurbishment of the 90-bedroom property on Brunswick Street. This acquisition allows Andras House to become the sole franchise operator of Travelodge in Northern Ireland, enhancing its portfolio that includes various other hotel brands such as Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn. Rajesh Rana, director of Andras House, expressed excitement about the acquisition, highlighting Travelodge's strong brand recognition in the budget market. The deal was supported by Danske Bank, which has previously backed Andras House in other significant transactions. The hotel was originally built by Andras House in 1991 and has undergone several brand changes before being acquired again. The hotel sector in Northern Ireland has been notably active amidst a slow commercial property market.
