Paris Olympic Cauldron to Return Annually Until 2028

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the Olympic cauldron balloon, a centerpiece of the Paris 2024 Olympics, will return annually from June 21 to mid-September until the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The cauldron, designed by Mathieu Lehanneur, stands 30 meters tall and utilizes LED lights and mist to create the illusion of a flame, marking it as the first in Olympic history to operate without fossil fuels. Macron expressed his excitement for the cauldron's continued presence, linking it to cultural festivities like the Fête de la Musique and Fête du Sport. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo also welcomed the decision, calling it a cherished legacy of the Games.
