Detroit Mercy Defeats Ball State 70-59

The Michigan State Spartans women's basketball team achieved a resounding 101-44 victory over Detroit Mercy, marking their second 6-0 start in three seasons under head coach Robyn Fralick. Conversely, the Detroit Mercy men's basketball team defeated Ball State 70-59, led by Orlando Lovejoy's 19 points, as the Titans improved to 3-2 while the Cardinals fell to 1-4. Ball State struggled offensively, shooting just 38.6% from the field and committing 15 turnovers, which frustrated head coach Michael Lewis. Despite a brief comeback attempt, Ball State could not overcome Detroit Mercy’s lead, which was established early in the game. The Spartans will next compete in the Acrisure Classic in California, while the Cardinals will head to Estero, Florida, for the Gulf Coast Showcase.
