U2 Working on New Album Amid Tour Hopes

U2 guitarist The Edge has revealed that the band is in the early stages of creating their next album, having amassed a significant amount of material during the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that while the guitar will play a substantial role, the album will not adhere to a heavy rock sound, emphasizing a more innovative use of the instrument. The band is experimenting with various themes and ideas, enjoying a creative phase, and working closely with producer Jacknife Lee. Additionally, The Edge provided a positive update on drummer Larry Mullen Jr.'s recovery, stating that they have already begun recording sessions with him. U2 is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' with the upcoming release of a collection of outtakes titled 'How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb' on November 29. This archival project offers insights into the band's creative process during a challenging period in their career.
