Mother, Infant Injured by Vehicle in Framingham Crosswalk
A 34-year-old mother and her 7-month-old baby were struck by a tan-colored minivan while crossing the street in a crosswalk at the intersection of Waverly and Hollis streets in Framingham. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m., and surveillance footage captured the moments leading up to the collision, showing the woman entering the intersection with her stroller before being hit by the vehicle making a left turn. Both the mother and child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospitals in the Boston area for treatment. The 68-year-old driver of the minivan remained at the scene, was cooperative with the police, and was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident. The identities of the victims have not been released, and authorities expect both to survive.
